우리투데이 이강웅 기자 |  청암대학교 김성홍 부총장(총장직무대행)과 양회송 국제교류본부장은 호주 브리스번 James Cook University Brisbane Campus (Kathleen Newcombe 총장)을 12월 1일 공식 방문해 성공적으로 자매대학체결을 이뤘다.
참고로 James Cook University는 의대, 치대, 약대, 수의대 특히 해양 & 담수 생물학(Marine & Freshwater Biology) 세계 1위인 명문대학이다.

청암대학교는 이번 자매대학 체결을 시작으로 본교 대학생들에게 글로벌 역량강화를 위해 다양한 해외현장경험의 기회를 제공하고 특히 호주 및 뉴질랜드에서 글로벌 마인드 및 전공에 맞는 실무능력을 배양하고 취업역량을 향상하도록 호주명문대학 James Cook University Brisbane Campus와 자매대학 체결식을 거행한 것이다.
본교 청암대학교에서 사전교육을 통해 호주적응교육(현지적응에 필요한 어학연수, 현지문화적응, 전공관련교육)과 현장학습 및 실습(현지교육기관과 협력을 맺은 산업체 또는 기업 및 기관에서 전공관련 현장학습)을 통해 글로벌역량을 키워나가게 될 것이다.
또한 호주현지산업체 Wara Sushi와의 MoU체결은 실질적으로 실무능력향상과 해외취업의 기회를 제공할 수 있는 제도를 마련한 것이다.

참고로 Wara Sushi 는 호주퀸슬랜드에서 가장 큰 프랜차이즈회사로서 25개이상의 매장과 250명이상의 직원이 근무하고 있는 건실한 기업체이다.
청암대학교와 JCUB는 긴밀한 협력관계를 다짐하고 2026년을 첫 단추로 삼아 국제교류의 저번을 더욱 확대해 나가겠다고 김성홍부총장(총장직무대행)은 설명하였다.

Vice President Kim Seong-hong (Acting President) and Director of International Exchange Yang Hoe-song of Cheongam University officially visited James Cook University Brisbane Campus (President Kathleen Newcombe) on December 1st and successfully concluded a sister university agreement.
For reference, James Cook University is a prestigious institution renowned for its medical, dental, pharmacy, and veterinary schools, and is ranked number one globally in Marine & Freshwater Biology.
Cheongam University held this sister university agreement ceremony with the prestigious Australian institution, James Cook University Brisbane Campus, to provide its students with diverse overseas field experience opportunities for global competency enhancement. This initiative aims to cultivate a global mindset and practical skills aligned with their majors, particularly in Australia and New Zealand, thereby improving their employability.
Students at Cheongam University will develop global competencies through pre-departure training, including Australian adaptation education (language training, local cultural adaptation, and major-related education necessary for local adjustment), as well as field studies and internships (major-related field studies at industries, companies, or institutions partnered with local educational institutions).
Furthermore, the MoU signed with the Australian local company Wara Sushi establishes a system that can practically enhance practical skills and provide opportunities for overseas employment.
For reference, Wara Sushi is a solid enterprise and the largest franchise company in Queensland, Australia, operating over 25 stores and employing more than 250 staff members.
